Biography

In 1995, Amanda Goldthorpe-Hall graduated from The Royal Academy of Music in London, having attended on a scholarship place and achieved her BMus(Hons) and LRAM. She became a multi West-End credited Soprano, Musical Theatre Performer and Actress.
Throughout her rewarding and successful career she has undertaken roles in numerous West-End and touring productions, Operas, recordings, concerts, commericals and dramas in theatre, TV and film. With concert performances at venues including The Royal Albert Hall, The Barbican and The Royal Festival Hall in the UK, and at theatres and concert halls in Spain, Italy, Germany, Kuala Lumpur, Begium, Beirut and Switzerland , Amanda is a truly international artist.
From playing leading ladies in well loved musicals such as The Sound of Music, Evita, Phantom of The Opera and Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, to working with The Royal Shakespeare Company, and with numerous appearances on UK and European television, including The Sooty Show(a cult UK childrens TV show), Amanda was honoured in 2010 to be invited as a part of the BBC Royal Proms Season to musically celebrate Stephen Sondheim’s 80th Birthday, together with Dame Judi Dench, Simon Russell Beale & Bryn Terfel. In the rock and pop world Amanda has sung withPaul Carrackand Sir Cliff Richard and in the opera world with Renee Fleming and Lesley Garrett. She’s also shared the bill with Lenny Henry, Dawn French and Bradley Walsh in the world of comedy, so it’s clear that Amanda enjoys a varied professional life!
With credits in the 'real world' including a stint as Head of Performing Arts for a leading University; launching, running and successfully selling to a national company a large independent theatre school; teaching at many of the counttry's leading conservatoires and colleges and maintaining a busy private teaching practice, it may surprise you to know that she is also one of only 25 Estill Certified Master Teachers in the UK. As a performer and as a teacher, she is passionate about singing and the performing arts.
